The year 2019 has been full of changes and exciting new prospects for Worldwide Entertainment Corporation (WEC). At its helm is Judith Parker Harris, the President of WEC, the production and distribution company first started by her late husband, Jack H. Harris.

The award-winning Parker Harris brings a wealth of experience to the job. Boasting a successful career as a commercial producer and director with over 3,000 commercials to her credit, she also ran a multi-million advertising agency in Los Angeles, CA.

Ms. Parker Harris has enthusiastically taken the mantle, presiding over WEC’s classic library of 30 films. She is dedicated to advancing the legacy of The Blob and bringing other works from the late, great Jack H. Harris, affectionately known as “Father of the Blob,” to the attention of our devoted Blob aficionados as well as to a whole new generation of fans.

Since the beginning of the year, we have launched Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube accounts to share newly discovered behind-the-scenes photos, fun facts, and trailers from cult hits like Dinosaurus!, Astro-Zombies, Equinox, 4-D Man, and Ape.

Be at the site of The Colonial Theatre, where the famous Blob-ooze scene was shot, to relive the Friday Night Run Out as moviegoers take part in the terror of fleeing from the insatiable Blob! It’s a weekend you don’t want to miss—packed full of amazing events like The Blob Ball, Fire Extinguisher Parade, Saturday Street Fair, and Shorty’s Contest that climaxes with a special award to the winner for the best amateur film short.

The Blobfest first opened in the year 2000 and became an immediate success–drawing in an impressive group of longtime Blob devotees and attracting a wide array of enthusiastic new fans as well.

The Colonial Theatre hosts the three-day event in commemoration of the original classic sci-fi thriller The Blob, starring Steve McQueen, and uses the occasion to acquaint and re-acquaint fans with other sci-fi or horror movies from the late 50’s.

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will be presenting “Out of This World: A Celebration of Sci-Fi Movies” every Tuesday in July. Tune in on July 17th, when TCM will air The Blob. Consult your local listings for when it will be playing in your area.
